Third location for this century-old local institution opened by Harry Schmuckler, which was previously at two locations across the street from the town green (first at Crestwood Plaza and then at Lebanon Ave. and South Main St.), and moved here in the early 1940s. Schmuckler sold to Rubin “Ruby” Cohen in the 1930s, whose family ran it until 1978, when it was taken over by John and Romilda Garet, whose family still run it.

Jim Neville tripled the structure’s size in 1994, but careful to maintain the historic public-facing side as it was.
