Long before it was bricked over, capped with a slatted fence, and made into a discount liquor store, what was then known as the Hilltop Diner was Barry Levinson’s main inspiration for what become the 1982 film Diner. (The real diner used in the film, however, and in some others, was one later known as ‘Hollywood Diner‘.)
