Notes:

Messrs. Robert C. Swisher and Howard Scalzo originally operated this diner as White Crystal Diner at 305 South Ave., Cranford, N.J., until it was repossessed (literally in the middle of the night) in 1957. Kullman stored it three years, then sold it in 1960 to Mr. Joseph Natale, who placed it at 20 Center Ave. in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. The Natales operated it for 40 years. (Joseph and Carmella “Molly“‘s son, Anthony “Moose” Natale, who last operated the diner in New Jersey, went on to run a Stewart’s Root-Beer Drive-In at 460 NJ-36 in Highlands, N.J., which is now gone.) In 2000, the diner was displaced by development and sold to a Mr. Morrall, who sent it to Steve Harwin’s Diversified Diners in Cleveland for restoration. It was then bought by Danny Boyle and Gary Fields, who planned to place it on Main St. in Springfield, Mass. in spring 2006. However, Massachusetts refused to issue moving permits for the diner or help in any other way, and so that deal fell through. The diner finally found a home here by 2012.
